The design for this quilt is inspired by the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian. Several colors of silk fabrics make up the geometric pattern with dark gray strips running between the blocks. The backing is a dark brown silk and the binding is dark gray.
This art quilt, approximately 18 x 23 inches in size, is a one of a kind design, using strips of fabric, hand woven into a single textile. The background evokes an autumn sunset. the tree is appliqued on top of this, embellished with glass beads, metal charms and fabric leaves. The bottom of the quilt is a bounty of fallen leaves -- beautifully hand cut and appliqued on the ground.

You asked for it so here it is....the "Lil Hoot on a Limb" quilt now available in a twin size. This is machine appliqued using the highest quality cotton fabric. I have left the "leaves" on the tree with a soft frayed edge to add interest. It is quilted in a fun modern circle design to compliment the leaf pattern.
